Why study in Canada?

Canada is currently considered by the UN as one of the best countries to live in, due to its quality of life, low levels of violence and its educational system.

Added to this, the cost of studies becomes much lower than the United States and the European Union; from 20% to 40% lower.

It is also a leader in the development of technologies, which makes its level of education higher, and they teach programs related to engineering, biotechnology and artificial intelligence.

How to get a permit to study in Canada?

The duration of your permit to study in Canada lasts for the time your studies take. Once you finish your studies, you have 90 days to leave the country. In case you want to continue studying, you should use this time to renew your permit. In the same way if you decide to opt for residence in the country.

Canada allows any level of education to study.

The First Level, which is Primary, is free for Canadian residents.

The second level, which is high school, is also free for residents of Canada. For international students, the approximate cost per year is from $6,300 USD to $11,000 USD.

For higher studies, Canada gives you the option of studying languages or higher education. The cost of the language programs are of different prices with different durations. The cost depends on the city where the course is taught, which can be Toronto, Quebec, Vancouver and Calgary.

The requirements to process your study permit are:

1.-Take English assessment

2.-Decide the program

3.- Fill out the application (application payment $250 CAD)

4.- Pay the services to the school (the fee of the established school fee) and generate an invoice

5.- Have the letter of acceptance by the College (LOA)

15 CANADA FAST FACTS

1.The second largest country in the world.

Do you have time to travel? If not, you will have to take it out because the distances that await you in Canada are not, shall we say, short.

Canada is the second largest country in the world in terms of land area, behind Russia. In total, it has 9,984,670 square km² of surface -while Russia has 17,098,242 km²-.

In addition, its border with the United States makes it the country with the longest land border in the world. The dividing line between the two North American giants is 8,893 kilometers long and is divided into two sectors: 6,416 km south of Canada, and 2,477 km between Canada and Alaska

2. Lots of water and clean air, it will be nature in Canada!

If you are a nature lover, this is your perfect destination. Sure!

Canada has the longest coastline in the world and, except for its borders with the US to the north and south of the country, the rest of its territory borders the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans, which adds up to a total of just over 202,000 kilometers of coastline. If we go beyond the theme of water, Canada also stands out for having

If we continue talking about natural spaces, you should know that 31% of the Canadian territory is forest and the country is completely crossed by rivers and countless lakes, some of them with more than 30,000 km² of surface, such as the Great Bear Lake (more bigger than the entire country of Belgium). By the way, did you know that the longest place name in the country has 31 letters? And it belongs to the name of a lake! This is Pekwachnamaykoskwaskwaypinwanik Lake, in the province of Manitoba.

From all this vast natural environment, the fact that Canada is among the first countries in the world with the purest air can be inferred. So, during your stay in this beautiful country you will only have the option of enjoying its beaches, lakes, mountains and forests. What envy!

3. Educational model, one of the best in the world

Did you know that Canada has one of the best valued educational systems in the world?

The country is a true educational powerhouse and this is perfectly reflected in the PISA report: the latest Program for International Student Assessment ranked Canada seventh out of 70 countries tested worldwide.

The country does not have a national educational system, but rather each province functions autonomously. For its part, the teaching staff are highly valued professionals whose selection is governed by very high standards of demand.

4. Multiculturality: more than 200 ethnic origins

A multicultural country with a great diversity of ethnic groups is one of the main characteristics of Canadian society and traditions.

The country is the product of a mixture of more than 200 different ethnic origins, since Canada was inhabited in the past by aboriginal people from many different parts of the world. A peculiar example is the city of Toronto, capital of the province of Ontario, which is listed as one of the most multiethnic in the world.

5. Less population than the State of California

How do you hear it? A total of 37 million people live across the enormous territory of Canada, while in the State of California (United States), 20 times smaller, approximately 39 million live. Amazing!

6. A UFO landing strip and more than 1,400 airports

Canada never ceases to amaze with its curiosities. If you have to travel to any part of the country, you can choose from its more than 1,400 airports spread throughout its territory. But the most surprising thing is that it also has a landing strip for UFOs! Yes, as you hear.

7. The longest street in the world

You have already seen that Canada is not characterized by “small” things. And it is that the country also has the largest street in the world. This is Yonge Street, it is one of the main road arteries in Toronto (Ontario). It is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest street in the world, with a length of 56 kilometers. and is considered a national historic site.

As you can see, Canada is full of curious facts that you can discover yourself during your stay in this beautiful and surprising country.

8. The favorite place of polar bears

Well, we don't really know what they think of "home," but Canada is home to about 15,000 polar bears out of an estimated 25,000 in the world. As a curiosity, the popular Disney cartoon character, Winnie the Pooh Bear, was inspired by Winnie, a Canadian bear cub who actually lived in the London Zoo between 1915 and 1934.

9. Three times host of the Olympic Games

The Canadian country has hosted the Olympic Games three times throughout its history. Of those of summer, in 1976, and of those of winter in 1988 and  2010.

10. Prepare for the cold, Canada has another level

It is true that not all cities and parts of the country suffer from temperatures as extreme as you imagine, but Canada is, in general, a very cold country. Winter temperatures can reach values below -40ºC in some parts of the north of the country.

11. The name of the country derives from the indigenous word “kanata”,

Kanata whose translation means "village", "settlement" or "group of cabins". Although initially it referred only to the settlement of what is now Quebec (then called Stadacona), it was the explorer Jacques Cartier who in 1535 used the term to refer to the rest of the indigenous settlements.

12. Polar Bear Swim

Among the main traditions of Canada, the so-called "Polar Bear Swim" stands out. This tradition consists of welcoming the new year by taking a cold swim in the Pacific every January 1st. Ideal for clarifying ideas, although only suitable for the brave or reckless!

13. No shoes inside the house

If you want to visit someone in Canada, you must take off your shoes as soon as you enter their homes. And it is that whether in their own home or in the home of a stranger, Canadians have a habit of taking off their shoes when they arrive, going barefoot or putting on special slippers. This way they don't dirty the house and walk around it more comfortably!

 14.The 1984 law

determines that Canada does not manufacture or study to create weapons of mass destruction. And it is that Canadians are so respectful that they even repudiate the possession of such weapons.

15. A zip code for Santa Claus

Canada with a Christmas touch. While it is true that millions of letters are sent to Santa Claus around the world,  Canada has gone one step further by creating a zip code for Santa Claus. So now you know, when you want to make your wishes come through,  just send a letter to the zip code HOH OHO.
